This section provides links to resources that can assist in the primary prevention of the sexual assault of older women. To date, resources in Australia are limited. However, this section will build over time particularly with the development of resources from Norma's Project. Guides
The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA) has developed resources to assist older women who have been sexually assaulted, as well as to support family members and service providers. The SECASA provides services within the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne to people who have been sexually assaulted. The Centre also works with non-offending family members, partners, caregivers and support workers. Copies of the SECASA resources for older victims, relatives and workers are provided below.

Policy
With respect to age
This report was developed in 2009 by the Department of Health Victoria. The report is principally for workers in health services and community agencies that work with older people - to assist in detecting and preventing elder abuse. Its preparation drew on advice from older people as well as consultation with workers and other stakeholders. The report includes a section on sexual abuse. A copy of the report is provided below.

Elder abuse and the sexual assault of older women.
In 2006 article the Australian Institute of Family Studies produced a document entitled 'Elder Abuse' and the sexual assault of older women'. The article considers sexual assault in the context of elder abuse and compulsory reporting in residential aged care. A copy of the report is provided below.

This document was developed by the Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault, part of the Australian Institute of Family Studies. The document outlines key issues in institutional and care settings (including residential aged care) to identify shared elements of various institutions identified in the literature. It also considers prevalence, historical factors and cultural and structural issues to consider in responses to sexual assault within institutional settings. A copy of the report is provided below.
